The Arthur Svensson International Prize is presented to a person or organization who has promoted union rights and/or strengthened unionization. The prize is NOK 500,000 (approximately EUR 63,000/USD 86,000) and is awarded annually based on nominations made by unions and union representatives from across the world.
WHO IS ELIGBLE FOR THE PRIZE?
The prize will be awarded to a person or organization that has particularly promoted union rights and/or strengthened trade union organization. Deceased persons cannot be nominated.PREVIOUS RECIPIENTS

Representatives and employees of Norwegian and international trade unions. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS
The nomination must include arguments for why the candidate is nominated.
It must also be clear who is making the nomination and the nominator's relationship with the proposed candidate.
The deadline for nominating candidates is 31 January 2012. The prize will be presented in Oslo on 14 June 2012. THE PRIZE COMMITTEE
